Drugstore Beauty Trend: Kohl Kajal Eyeliners for Spring 2016

While light makeup is often touted as the “it look” for spring, I’m not one to ditch the drama when it comes to my eyes. I love my smoky eyes, winged liner and pops of color, and I’m glad that we’re getting a lot of new releases that can help me play up my eyes. I just got wind of some new releases from NYC and Rimmel that are stepping up the drugstore kohl kajal eyeliner selection this season!

NYC is stealing the show with their new Show Time Kohl Kajal Eyeliners. Just like any kajal liner, these are supposed to glide smoothly over the skin with a creamy texture with strong pigmentation. The cone shape makes it easy to get both thin and thick lines— until it dulls, of course. I’m excited to see if they’ll be great for smoky eyes, since kajal textures are usually perfect for smudging and blending out.

Shades Include:

  • Purple Glam
  • Deep Grey
  • True Black
  • Deep Brown

These will be popping up in local drugstores soon– they’re already up online at Target for $2.99.

I’m super interested in trying the new Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Double Ended Shadow and Liners. You all know I love my double-ended beauty products (except brushes, but that’s a different story), and so I’m hoping these look as pretty in person as they do in the photos. One one side, a stay true eyeshadow, the other side a 24 hour kohl kajal eyeliner. The formulas are waterproof, creaseproof, and transfer-proof for bold eyes that last. The color combos feature complimentary colors that work together to define your eyes and give you a complete eye look with a range of finishes.

Kissed By A Rose Gold: Brown pearl liner & rose gold shadow with a pearl finish
Queens Of The Bronzed Age: Gold pearl/glitter liner & bronze medium pearl shadow

The Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Double Ended Shadow and Liners will be available in drugstores soon for around $6.47– the only place I’ve seen them so far is Walmart.

I’m excited to try these new liners that will hopefully bring the drama with some bold color. I’ll be getting my hands on them ASAP to swatch for you all, so be sure to follow me on social media to stay in the loop.

What do you think of the new kohl kajal eyeliner trend?

I’m not a huge fan of Kajals. I find most to be short wearing and unwieldy. I may have to check out the Rimmel one just for the bright blue though!

I definitely want to put these to the test in terms of longevity, especially if Rimmel is claiming 24 hour wear!
